Simple skincare routine

Truth about my journey + how I can help you find a simple skincare routine

Who doesn’t love a great, and simple skin care routine? I know I do, especially because I have been dealing with acne for years! I was in college when I found Curology and it cleared my skin right up. If you struggle with intense acne, I would recommend spending the money on Curology because it’s worth it!  At the time of using Curology,  I used Cerave cleanser and Cetaphil moisturizer. But, these products have some harmful ingredients that can effect our immune and endocrine system.

Fast forward a few years,  I was introduced to Beautycounter by my cousin. I was hesitant to try new products because I was afraid my oily, acne prone skin would go back to how it was. (Spoiler: it didn’t!) However, I tried the charcoal mask and decided to continue trying these products because I liked the mission of Beautycounter. The mission is to get safer products into the hands of everyone because everyone deserves to know what’s in their products!

Did you know…

The last law passed to regulate the cosmetic industry by Congress was in 1938?! The average woman uses 12 products a day, and that can add up to about 168 different ingredients every day! So if you’re trying to create a new simple skin care routine, I would recommend Beautycounter because they are going to Congress to pass laws and regulate the cosmetics industry.

What’s in a simple skincare routine?

To start your two step skincare routine, you need a cleanser! The key to finding a cleanser that is right for you, is to figure out your skin type. If you are not sure, take a shower, and when you get out, wait 10 minutes to put anything on your face. This will give your skin time to either become tight and dry, or oily. Another way to figure out skin type is to try this quiz

STEP 1: Cleanser

Now that you have one product picked out for your skin type, you need the second step for your simple skincare routine! Note, that you CAN mix and match these lines. For example, some people use the Countertime Lipid Defense Cleansing Oil and use the Countermatch moisturizer so it’s up to you!

Whether you’re starting a simple skincare routine, or starting your clean beauty journey…

I hope this helps you choose two safer, high quality, and high performing products to get your simple skincare routine started. Whether you’re starting fresh, or adding to it, there are more steps in between a cleanser and moisturizer. The four steps to a full routine are Cleanse, Prep, Treat, and Protect. In addition to the four steps, you can use certain products in the morning and others at night.

The end goal is to have a four step routine, but I know it can be overwhelming. So, when you have your simple skincare routine down, come back for more!

No matter how long your routine is or what products you use, make sure it ends with sunscreen!

End your simple skincare routine with mineral sunscreen!
